Using jobEasy

Find roles, tailor a CV to each one, check it the way an ATS would, then apply. Here's the flow from first launch to your first application.

1. Set up your profile

Open the Profile tab first. Everything jobEasy writes is built from what you put here.

  • Your CVs: choose Add a CV and upload the CV you already use. You can keep several, for example one for data roles and one for analytics, and jobEasy picks the best one for each job.
  • Application profile: your full name as it should appear on documents, plus the standing answers employers ask for again and again.
  • Saved files: the folder where exported CVs and cover letters are saved.

2. Add your searches

In Profile → Saved searches, choose Add a search. Enter the role keywords and a location, and give the search a name if you like. jobEasy checks your searches regularly and keeps only jobs posted in the last 7 days.

Locations understand OR, AND and NOT, for example:

("Dublin" OR "Cork") AND NOT "Remote"

Tick Remote only if you only want remote roles. You can pause a search without deleting it.

3. Find jobs

On the Jobs tab, pick a search and choose Check this search now, or Check all searches now. New jobs appear as each search finishes.

  • ☆ Add to favorites stars a job. Starred jobs never expire and stay when you choose Clear list.
  • Switch between All jobs and ★ Favorites at the top of the list. Favourites are grouped by the day you starred them.

4. Tailor your CV

Open a job. The Resume assistant builds a CV tailored to that posting from your own CV. Your employers, job titles, dates and education are kept exactly as they are.

  • Ask for changes in plain words, for example "shorter summary", "lead with the Spark project" or "fit it on one page".
  • The first CV for a job uses 1 CV from your plan. The next 15 edits to that same CV are free.
  • Prefer to edit by hand? Open it with Overleaf: your CV, edit it there, then bring it back with Paste edited CV. From then on, chat edits build on your version.

5. Check, write and export

  • Check ATS score compares your CV with the posting and lists its strengths, gaps and suggested fixes. Ask the assistant to work the fixes in, then Re-check. Each check uses 1 ATS check.
  • Generate cover letter writes a letter from the job and your tailored CV. Your edits to the letter are saved automatically. Each letter uses 1 cover letter.
  • Save your documents as PDFs, named after you and the role, into your Saved files folder. They never overwrite an earlier version.

Always read before you send. jobEasy writes from your own CV, but you're the one applying, so check every document before it goes to an employer.

Pro Max extras

These come with jobEasy Pro Max and the Pro Max bundle, with daily limits.

  • Web Search searches the web for roles, using the same boolean filters as your saved searches. Up to 20 searches a day.
  • PhD search looks for funded PhD positions, filtered by level and how recently they were posted.
  • The Agent: Run discovery finds and ranks new roles and flags postings that look stale. Your starred jobs always go first. Approve & build prepares the CV, ATS check and cover letter for the roles you pick. Each package uses CVs, checks and letters from your plan as usual. Up to 2 discovery runs a day.

On Free or Pro, these features show a message saying they come with Pro Max.
